The most delicious things that Lauree has added to my life is raclette. Raclette is a perfect Swiss tradition wherein a wheel of raclette cheese is melted bit by bit in front of a fire, scraped over potatoes, doused in freshly cracked pepper, and washed down with wine. The first time I had raclette was in Bolivia and I ate about 4x the normal serving and suffered from it for a good long while. But it was totally worth every bite. Knowing how much Ryan and I adore it, she schlepped a wheel of cheese from Switzerland to Seattle to South Africa just for our enjoyment. And enjoy it we did!
We pulled out the braai, set up a table in the backyard and a 8 of us feasted like kings and queens. A little slice of Swiss heaven right here in Joburg. Gracias Lauree, as the Bolivians would say - Que de la puta!
