Never Have I Ever
In a bored moment browsing through my phone I discovered that I have amassed quite a collection of odd photos on my camera phone. They were all snapped in a moment of shock, laughter, charm, or after the triggering of a good old WTF?! As a collection, these fuzzy little gems give a glimpse of the everyday novelties that keep me on my toes here in South Africa. Enjoy.

This is the bathroom at work. Needless to say, one of the perks we do not enjoy is toilet paper rolls for the taking.

We encountered this sign at the end of a dirt road in one of the most out of the way SA towns that I have yet to drive through…a far off land where homes are filled with carbinets and walldrobes.

The World Cup was hands down the most festive thing I have ever been a part of. Three months after the final game I had the pleasure of seeing this sweet ride on the highway. Made my day.

Organic veggies…direct to the housewife. ‘Nuff said.

Huletts sugar packets always bring a smile to my face with their awkwardly worded inspirational quotes. This one is my favorite: ”Your legacy should be that you made it better than it was when you got it.” -Lee Iacocca.

Wondering where to go to pet a pig, feed the ducks, and chill out by a pond? A Shell gas station on the interstate between Johannesburg and Durban of course!
PS, there are a couple of lovely picnic pagodas there too.

This region of the world is renowned for inefficient and unhelpful officials. So you can imagine my sister’s and my delight upon reading this sign at the Swaziland border. The Swazis have hereby earned a little bit of my patience.

Keep ‘em coming Africa…I know you will!
